Trump: Sean Penn’s El Chapo interview ‘amazing’
Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump is calling Sean Penn’s interview with notorious drug lord Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán “sort of amazing.”
{mosads}The billionaire real estate tycoon told New Hampshire radio host Jack Heath that there should be an investigation into the interview published by “Rolling Stone” magazine, according to BuzzFeed News.
“Well I guess there should be [an investigation],” Trump said Monday. “But it was sort of amazing the way he got in there and all of the people that are looking for him couldn’t find him and here’s a guy sitting down with a rather long interview.
“So I don’t know, I guess we have bigger problems in this country, but I guess it is a little amazing that he was able to get an interview with a guy that everybody else was looking for, right?” Trump added.
During the hours-long interview with Guzmán, Penn asked the drug kingpin about reports that Guzmán put a $100 million bounty on Trump after he made offensive comments about Mexicans.
“Ah! Mi amigo!” Guzmán responded.
Guzmán, who was captured by authorities Friday, could be extradited to the United States to prevent him from escaping Mexican prison again.
Penn is reportedly under investigation by Mexican authorities.
