The second poll in as many days finds Republican presidential hopeful Chris Christie falling off in the New Hampshire primary.
{mosads}A WBUR poll released on Thursday shows the New Jersey governor with just 4 percent support in the state, down from 12 percent just one month ago.
GOP front-runner Donald Trump leads in the new poll with 26 percent support, followed by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who have 15 percent support each, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, with 10 percent support, and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), with 7 percent support.
Christie also trails retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson and Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) in the poll, tying with former business executive Carly Fiorina for eighth.
The WBUR poll comes one day after a CNN/WMUR poll that found him with just 6 percent support in the state, a central focus of his campaign.
In an appearance Thursday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Christie said New Hampshire voters are responding to his upbeat message and are “disgusted” by negative attack ads from some of his rivals.
“I had a half a dozen people come up to me and say to me that they’re really disgusted with all the ads up here and all the negativity from Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio,” he said.
“And they said we’re really happy that you’re above the fray, you’re talking about yourself in your ads, you’re not talking about anyone else,” he added.
He also dismissed Granite State polls, pointing instead to surveys that indicate a majority of voters are still undecided in the Feb. 9 primary.

The WBUR poll surveyed 436 registered voters likely to vote in the New Hampshire primary. It has a margin of error of 4.7 percent.
