Clinton: ‘I take classified information very seriously’

Democratic primary front-runner Hillary Clinton on Sunday said she treated sensitive information with all due diligence during her tenure as secretary of State.

{mosads}“Well, of course, and that’s exactly what I did,” Clinton said on ABC’s “This Week,” responding to a question of whether she handled sensitive information properly.

“I take classified information very seriously,” she added. “You know, you can’t get classified information off the classified system in the State Department to put onto an unclassified system, no matter what that system is.”

Clinton also said she did not transmit any information that was marked classified over her private email server.

“There is no classified marked information on those emails sent or received by me,” she said.

The State Department on Friday refused to make public 22 emails from Clinton’s server marked “top secret.” More than 1,000 messages on Clinton’s email server have been designated classified.

She also accused Republicans of using the scandal to try to “beat up on me.”

“I understand that, that’s the way they are,” she said.
