Palin: Polls aren’t only good for strippers
Sarah Palin says she has faith in polls showing Donald Trump ahead in the GOP race.
“Usually, I say polls are only good for strippers and cross-country skiers,” she joked to Extra, “but in this case, I do think the polls are accurate and are reflecting that the American people, the electorate … we’re looking for something different.
{mosads}“The status quo has got to go,” the former Republican governor of Alaska continued. “It’s gotten us into a lot of problems in this country, so we need to change that.
“That’s why you see the outsider candidates so high up in the polls. So, for the first time, I’m going to say, ‘I believe the polls,’” she added.
Palin, the 2008 vice presidential candidate who has endorsed Trump, praised his blunt, often controversial, campaign rhetoric.
“He’s going rogue all the time, and I think that’s what Americans are craving right now is some candidness, some willingness to talk about the issues that are first and foremost on our hearts and minds to get constitutional government back into the system,” she said.
“His whole candidacy is refreshing,” Palin added. “I do believe that he will be our next president and that’s going to be good for America.”
Trump’s campaign is facing its first test from voters Monday night as Iowa holds its first-in-the-nation caucuses.
He leads the other Republican White House hopefuls by about 5 points there, according to the latest RealClearPolitics average of polls.
