Cornel West, an activist and surrogate for Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, bumped into Jeb Bush in South Carolina on Friday on his way to breakfast.
“We just ran into brother Jeb, and it was good to see him,” West told a Mashable reporter, indicating he gave the GOP presidential candidate and former Florida governor a hug.
{mosads}”I said, ‘You stay strong.’ God bless he and his family,” West recalled.
Bush is clawing for support in South Carolina on the eve of Saturday’s primary. He’s currently drawing around 10 percent support in the RealClearPolitics polling index behind Donald Trump, Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio.
