A conservative super-PAC is launching an ad campaign attacking Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton, using the hashtag #NeverHillary.
American Crossroads, Karl Rove’s well-funded super-PAC, has created an initial 15-second ad that will be aired in Washington, D.C., according to Politico.
{mosads}The campaign is a seeming response to the #NeverTrump movement, Republican elites’ efforts to block GOP front-runner Donald Trump.
The group’s ad consists of a narrator saying, “Scandal follows Hillary Clinton like a shadow.”
Clinton can be heard saying, “I think I’m probably the most transparent person in public life.” The ad then shows a list of scandals the Clintons have faced, including “Rose Law Firm 1992,” “Whitewater 1992,” “Benghazi 2012” and “Emailgate 2016.” The ad closes with “#NeverHillary” written across the frame.
The new campaign may be the most high-profile conservative effort to attack Clinton, coming as many Republican donors concentrate their resources on going after Trump.
“With a resume filled with scandals and unethical behavior, Hillary Clinton is the one candidate unfit to be president of a condo association, never mind the United States. Because of that, it is important for everyone to consider what would happen if Hillary reached the Oval Office and then focus on making sure that never happens,” Ian Prior, a Crossroads spokesman, told Politico.
