Hillary Clinton overwhelming won among older voters and Bernie Sanders was by far the more popular among younger voters in the New York presidential primary Tuesday night, according to CNN exit polls.
Clinton, who is expected to win the Empire State in the Democratic race, won 70 percent of voters over the age of 65, according to CNN’s exit poll.

Sanders cleaned up among younger voters, the exit poll found. He took 72 percent of voters ages 18-29, with Clinton winning 28 percent of the youth demographic, according to CNN.
The generational divide between Clinton and Sanders has been a trend throughout the primary season. Older supporters — who tend to vote in higher numbers than younger people — have helped the former secretary of State stay ahead of the Vermont senator, who has had larger, younger and more enthusiastic crowds.
