Jane Sanders: Bernie ‘absolutely in it to win’

Bernie Sanders’s wife, Jane, on Thursday denied that her husband is staying in the Democratic presidential race simply to make a point, predicting the campaign would see a comeback.

“No, absolutely in it to win it,” Jane Sanders said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

{mosads}”In mid-March, after a string of losses, the media wrote his political obituary, and we came back to win eight in a row. So we’re expecting to do the same here,” she added.

The comments by Jane Sanders came after news broke that the Sanders campaign was laying off hundreds of campaign workers across the country.

Clinton moved closer to clinching the Democratic nomination by winning four of five Atlantic Coast primaries on Tuesday. Bernie Sanders has focused on Rhode Island, his single win, where independents voted in the open primary.

“We’re feeling good. Most of the primaries going forward are open, which I think is much more democratic,” Jane Sanders said Thursday.
