Republican megadonor Sheldon Adelson is willing to donate more than $100 million to presumptive GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump’s campaign, the New York Times reported late Friday.
Adelson has decided to majorly curtail his spending on congressional races in order to focus his money on the presidential race, the report added.
{mosads}Adelson, a Las Vegas casino magnate, officially endorsed Trump in an op-ed Friday, saying he “exemplifies the American spirit of determination, commitment to cause and business stewardship.”
It’s not yet clear where Adelson will put his money and he’s wary of the existing pro-Trump super-PACs, the report said. Trump has frequently railed against super-PACs on the campaign trail.
Addison spent at least $98 million on the 2012 elections, according to ProPublica. The money was split between the presidential and congressional races.
