Mark Cuban ‘absolutely’ open to Clinton VP spot

Investor Mark Cuban would seriously consider being Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s running mate in her likely fight with presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump.

“Absolutely,” he said when asked if he would mull a serious offer to join Clinton’s ticket. “The key would be, she’d have to go more to the center.

{mosads}“I like the fact that Sen. Clinton has thought out proposals,” Cuban added. “That’s a good thing. At least we get to see exactly where she stands.”

Cuban’s remarks come from a preview clip for a full interview with NBC anchor Chuck Todd airing Sunday on “Meet the Press.”

He said in the excerpt that the former secretary of State is drifting left of center during her Democratic presidential primary fight with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).

“I think Sen. Sanders has dragged her a little too far to the left,” the Dallas Mavericks owner said. “Things like college tuition and really other business elements that I think could hurt the economy. If she’s willing to listen, if she’s willing to hear other sides to things, then I’m wide open to discussing it.”

Cuban joked earlier this month that he would give Clinton the perfect foil for dealing with Trump.

“I would get a vice presidential candidate who’s someone like me who would just throw bombs at Donald,” he said.

“And I would be like, ‘Donald, I like you, we’re friends, but you’re a goddamn airhead.’ “

Reports emerged last week that Cuban had turned down anti-Trump Republicans seeking him for a third-party presidential bid.

“I don’t see that happening,” he said, declining to name the GOP activists. “There isn’t enough time.”

Cuban has repeatedly criticized Trump’s Oval Office bid since its launch last year. He argued in February, for example, that he would do “a better job” than the real estate mogul as president.
