Trump surrogate: ‘Even Bill Clinton chose other women’ over Hillary

An opening speaker at Donald Trump’s rally in New Mexico on Tuesday said voters should follow former President Bill Clinton’s lead when voting in November.

{mosads}“I’ve heard people say, ‘I don’t know who to chose — Trump or Hillary,” local attorney David Chavez said in Albuquerque. “Even Bill Clinton chose other women, so you should too!”

Chavez later compared voting for Clinton to drinking bleach.

“We’ve all heard just because … a vote for Hillary is to break the glass ceiling to elect a woman. Voting for her just because she is a woman is like drinking bleach because it looks like water,” he said.

Voters from both parties will head to the polls in New Mexico on June 7, the last day in the Republican primary. Trump, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, will look to surpass the 1,237 delegate threshold needed to officially lock up the nomination before the Republican National Convention. After winning Washington state on Tuesday, Trump needs fewer than 30 delegates.
