RNC: ‘We can and must do better than Hillary Clinton’

The Republican National Committee (RNC) on Tuesday released a statement slamming Hillary Clinton and comparing her to their party’s presumptive presidential nominee, Donald Trump.

The statement, which comes after Clinton became the first woman to become the presumptive nominee of a major political party, said Clinton’s fight to win the Democratic nomination is nearly over “thanks to the Democrat Party’s rigged system that empowers unelected, unbound superdelegates.”

{mosads}It criticized Clinton for having suffered more than 20 losses in a contest that was “supposed to be a mere formality.”

It then pivoted to Trump’s victory.

“Tonight, Donald Trump officially secured the requisite number of pledged delegates to be the Party’s presumptive nominee and built on his historic number of votes in the GOP Primary,” the statement, from RNC Chairman Reince Priebus and co-chair Sharon Day, said.

“Donald Trump sets up a clear contrast between Clinton who was anointed by Democrat insiders, and a successful businessman who offers a new path to get our country back on track.”

The statement said that too much is at stake in the election to let someone as “untrustworthy and hypocritical” as Clinton make it to the White House. It said she is going to follow the same agenda as President Obama, who has “made out nation less prosperous, less safe and less free.”

“It’s a shame that the first female nominee of a major party will also be the first standard-bearer to be under FBI investigation,” Day said.

“Hillary Clinton has been a disaster for women. Her actions speak louder than her words, whether it be paying women less than men or her scandal-plagued foundation taking millions of dollars from countries with dismal human rights records. We can and must do better than Hillary Clinton.”
