Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz vowed to make the party’s platform process the most “representative and inclusive in history.”

{mosads}”Arriving at a consensus will no doubt be a difficult task, but I am confident that the process will be a success,” Wasserman Schultz said at the Mid-Atlantic Democratic Platform Forum in Washington on Wednesday.

The forum is one of four aiming to open up the platform process to the public and to make the party more inclusive.

The move appears to be an olive branch to second-place presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, who has vowed to make his mark on the party’s platform at the Democratic National Convention in July.

Wasserman Schultz, under fire from Sanders supporters, recently reached a compromise with him and likely nominee Hillary Clinton, allowing them a greater say in who sits on the platform committee, something Sanders had pushed her for.

“This year, we made sure our campaigns were represented fully, so 75 percent of the members of this drafting committee were recommended by our presidential candidates. And when we’re done, this process and our convention will be the most representative and inclusive in history.”
