GOP rep: ‘I don’t have a big enough pencil’ to count Hillary’s ‘deceits’
Rep. Mike Pompeo (R-Kan.) on Thursday said he could barely keep track of all the lies presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton told in an interview one day earlier.
Clinton on Wednesday told Fox News’s “Special Report” that none of the emails she sent or received on her private email server as secretary of State were classified at the time.
{mosads}“You know, I was trying to count the deceits in that statement, and I didn’t have a big enough pencil,” Pompeo said in a radio interview with Hugh Hewitt.
“Whether something was marked classified or not is completely irrelevant. I handle national security information all the time. And if I said something to you right now on the radio that was classified, there would be no marking.”
Pompeo said military members are “less safe and secure” because of Clinton’s private server.
Despite his concerns about presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, Pompeo — a member of the House Select Committee on Benghazi — said Clinton’s behavior makes her a “far worse” choice for president.
“I have my challenges with Mr. Trump’s policies and the way he thinks about the world, not the least of which on national security. But Hillary Clinton is far worse,” he said.
“We’ve seen this. And I’m going to be part of a committee that’s going to issue a report about how the U.S. government, including Hillary Clinton, behaved that got four Americans killed in Benghazi now almost four years ago.”
