Former Obama campaign manager: Trump is ‘lazy’

President Obama’s former campaign manager says Donald Trump’s campaign is “lazy,” according to Politico.

{mosads}During an interview with former Obama aides Jon Favreau and Dan Pfeiffer on their podcast “Keepin’ it 1600,” David Plouffe said Trump’s use of a teleprompter this week showed he is not willing to put in the work required of a candidate in a campaign.

“It’s so offensive as a practitioner,” he said. “Get on your plane and go to Ohio. It’s not that complicated. … I think he’s actually quite lazy. He’s lazy.”

Trump’s chances in the general election are diminishing because he assumes his primary strategy will continue to pay off, added Plouffe, who now works as an adviser for Uber.

“It seems like he’s just stuck in the view that everything he did in the primary will work [in the general]. I think the evidence is that it’s not,” he said.

He said that he believes Hillary Clinton will be able to unite the Democratic Party and that speculation to the contrary is overblown.

“She needs intensity and enthusiasm, but I think compared to the Republicans, we couldn’t be more unified,” Plouffe said. “That s–t show is tearing apart by the day.”

Plouffe ran Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign.
