Trump thanks LGBT community after Orlando attack

Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump thanked the LGBT community Tuesday afternoon, saying he would fight for their freedoms and beliefs.

{mosads}“I will fight for you while Hillary brings in more people that will threaten your freedoms and beliefs,” Trump wrote.

The tweet appears to be in response to the shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Fla., on Sunday that killed 49 people and injured 53 more.

In an anti-terrorism speech on Monday, Trump argued that Hillary Clinton, the presumptive Democratic nominee, would allow radical Muslims into the country who oppose lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights.

“Ask yourself, who is really the friend of women and the LGBT community, Donald Trump with his actions, or Hillary Clinton with her words?” Trump said in his New Hampshire speech. “Clinton wants to allow radical Islamic terrorists to pour into our country — they enslave women and murder gays. I don’t want them in our country.”

Trump reassured Christian conservatives over the weekend that he opposes marriage equality, according to the Huffington Post.
