Clinton leads Trump by 15 points nationwide: poll

Hillary Clinton has soared to a 15-point lead over Donald Trump in the race for the presidency, according to a new poll.

Clinton, the Democratic nominee, leads Trump 48 percent to 33 percent in the McClatchy-Marist survey released on Thursday.

{mosads}Clinton also retains her edge over Trump in a four-candidate match-up, earning 45 percent to the GOP presidential nominee’s 31 percent. In that scenario, Libertarian presidential nominee Gary Johnson takes third, with 10 percent, while Green Party candidate Jill Stein grabs 6 percent.

Clinton’s advantage comes after the July version of the same poll showed her with a slim 3-point lead over Trump.

Clinton snuck past Trump 42 percent to 39 percent in that match-up, which occurred before both major parties’ national conventions.

Pollsters found Thursday that 53 percent see Clinton as an acceptable president, versus 47 percent who do not.

Thirty-nine percent have the same view of Trump, contrasted with 61 percent who say the billionaire is unacceptable.

Thursday’s McClatchy-Marist survey did not list a sample size, a margin of error or sampling dates for its latest edition.
