Sanders campaign manager meets new DNC head
Bernie Sanders’s campaign manager on Friday met with the new chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC).
Jeff Weaver reportedly had a positive interaction with DNC interim chief Donna Brazile after repeated clashes with her predecessor.
{mosads}Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) resigned as DNC chairwoman after leaked emails showed party leaders apparently planning to undermine Sanders’s campaign for the presidential nomination and Wasserman Schultz specifically criticizing Weaver.
“I was very pleased to meet with the new chairwoman,” Weaver told Politico.
“She has hit the ground running and is creating positive change at the DNC already.”
In the two weeks since the email leak, the DNC’s CEO, CFO and communications director have also left.
Hillary Clinton is the party’s presidential nominee.
