Palin doubles down on backing Ryan’s primary challenger

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin doubled down on her support of Speaker Paul Ryan’s primary challenger even after Donald Trump endorsed Ryan.

{mosads}Palin, an outspoken Trump supporter, wrote on Facebook that she was “proud to be standing with Paul Nehlen since May 9th.”

“Wisconsin, please vote for this man ‘of the people’ this Tuesday,” Palin wrote.

Trump on Friday endorsed Ryan at a rally in Wisconsin after making waves earlier in the week by declining to back the country’s highest-ranking elected Republican.

Nehlen on Saturday told CNN he appreciated Palin’s support.

“I’m so grateful to Ms. Palin and all the people who’ve endorsed me.”

Nehlen has a very slim chance at winning the primary Tuesday against Ryan, according to a poll this week that showed Ryan leading Nehlen by 66 points.
