Pro-Clinton super-PAC pauses TV ads in three battleground states

Hillary Clinton’s main super-PAC is putting a hold on TV ads in the battleground states of Virginia, Colorado and Pennsylvania as the Democratic nominee continues to dominate in the polls.

{mosads}Priorities USA has suspended ads in Colorado and Pennsylvania until Sept. 20 for now, according to Bloomberg. The group already halted advertising in Virginia, delayed until that same date.

Chief strategist Guy Cecil said during a Monday interview on Bloomberg’s “With All Due Respect” that the super-PAC will divert funds for some of the key battleground states to other ones as the party seeks to broaden the electoral map.

“Right now, we are going to look at other opportunities for us to expand the map and potentially reach out to some new voters as well through voter registration and on-the-ground efforts in some of our key states,” Cecil said.

Earlier this month, Clinton’s campaign decided to withdraw ads from Virginia and Colorado.

The change in spending comes as Clinton has seen a bounce in the polls. She holds a comfortable lead nationally over GOP nominee Donald Trump and in top battleground states as well as GOP-leaning states.

In polling averages from RealClearPolitics, Clinton leads Trump by 8 points in Virginia, 11 points in Colorado and 9 points in Pennsylvania.

“We think it’s actually really critical to use this opportunity to expand our party,” Cecil said.
