‘Is Matt Lauer a Trump supporter’ most Googled question after forum

Viewers of the NBC News presidential forum with Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump Wednesday flooded Google with the question: Is Matt Lauer a Trump supporter?

That was the most Googled question about Trump in the past day, according to Google Trends.

Lauer, host of the “Today” show, was besieged with criticism following the “Commander-in-Chief Forum” from those who saw his performance as sloppy and unfair.

{mosads}Reporters especially took issue with Lauer not pushing back on the Republican nominee’s claim that he has opposed the Iraq War since the beginning. Numerous fact-checkers have deemed that claim false, as he admitted to supporting the war in 2002.

Others slammed Lauer for rushing Clinton, the Democratic nominee, on her answers while noting he did not do the same to Trump.

“Lauer interrupted Clinton’s answers repeatedly to move on. Not once for Trump,” tweeted Norman Orstein, a political commentator. “Tough to be a woman running for president.”
