CIA Director John Brennan on Sunday dismissed claims from Donald Trump that intelligence officials indicated to the Republican presidential nominee that they are unhappy with President Obama.
“I know the briefers that have been briefing the candidates. They are the quintessential, professional intelligence officers. They do their work very well,” Brennan said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week.”
“I am fully confident that they comported themselves with the utmost professionalism.”
{mosads}During NBC News’s “Commander-in-Chief Forum” last week, Trump said intelligence officials indicated through body language that they were not happy with Obama because he did not follow their recommendations.
“I could tell you — I am pretty good with the body language — I could tell they were not happy. Our leaders did not follow what they were recommending,” Trump said.
Both Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton have received intelligence briefings as they prepare to potentially become the next commander in chief.
