{mosads}Gore, who served as Bill Clinton’s vice president for eight years, has been largely absent from this year’s presidential election.
He announced he was voting for Hillary Clinton ahead of the Democratic National Convention in July, but has primarily been keeping his eyes on the environment and climate change issues.
Gore did not attend the party’s convention, but urged voters to back Clinton in his pre-convention message.
“Given her qualifications and experience — and given the significant challenges facing our nation and the world, including, especially, the global climate crisis, I encourage everyone else to do the same,” the former vice president said.
Clinton adds Gore to a long list of high-profile surrogates on the campaign trail for the Democratic ticket, including including Preisdent Obama, first lady Michelle Obama, Sens. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren and former President Bill Clinton.
