Reid trolls Trump over Nevada pronunciation

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) is digging in on his war of words with Donald Trump, lecturing the Republican presidential nominee on the correct way to say “Nevada.”

{mosads}”If Donald Trump wants to come down from the penthouse his daddy bought him to lecture us on how to say Nevada, he could at least pronounce it correctly,” Reid said in a statement. “Instead, Trump told us we pronounce the name of our state wrong minutes before he refused to take a position on Yucca Mountain.”

The outgoing Senate Democratic leader added, “I have news for Donald: it’s pronounced Nev-AD-a and Yucca Mountain is dead.”

Trump drew shouts of disagreement when he mispronounced “Nevada” at a rally in Reno on Wednesday night, saying it should be pronounced as “Nev-AH-da.”

Trump also refused to take a position on moving nuclear waste to a Yucca Mountain site — a move Reid has spent years opposing.

“I’m going to take a look at it, because so many people are talking about it. I came into town and everyone’s talking about it. So I will take a very strong look at it, and the next time you interview me, we’ll talk about it for five minutes,” Trump said in an interview with a Las Vegas TV station.

Reid has repeatedly lashed out at Trump since he entered the presidential race last year. Trump hit back last month, mocking serious injuries Reid received during an exercising accident.
