Conway: Clinton has only herself to blame for FBI woes

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s campaign manager says Hillary Clinton and her allies can only blame themselves for a new FBI probe of emails from her private server.

“Hillary Clinton cannot blame the Trump campaign, cannot blame the [Republican National Committee], cannot blame the vast, right-wing conspiracy,” Kellyanne Conway said on CNN’s “360” late Monday.

{mosads}“It’s not about [FBI Director] Jim Comey. It’s not even about the FBI. They’re really at sea. They’re cursing the sky and it’s not working.”

Conway blamed Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee, and former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) for the string of negative headlines about Clinton’s campaign, calling them “a couple of selfish people.

“[It’s] Hillary Clinton in setting up that private email server and then lying about it, deleting emails and then being reckless and careless, according to many people,” she said.

“The only reason you and I are having this conversation again — and the only reason there’s not one but two FBI investigations now — is because Anthony Weiner is texting pictures of himself to a 15-year-old girl in North Carolina.”

Comey sent a letter to Congress on Friday telling lawmakers that the FBI had found new emails that may prove “pertinent” to its investigation of Clinton’s use of a private server while secretary of State.

The FBI director said his agency discovered the messages during a separate probe of Weiner, the estranged husband of longtime Clinton aide Huma Abedin.

Trump has repeatedly said Clinton’s private email server at the State Department jeopardized sensitive national intelligence and disqualifies her from the Oval Office.
