Poll: Clinton, Trump tied in Colorado

Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are tied in Colorado just days before the presidential election, according to a new poll released Thursday.

{mosads}Both nominees have 39 percent support, according to a poll released by the University of Denver’s Crossley Center for Public Opinion. Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson has 5 percent, and Green Party nominee Jill Stein 4 percent.

The poll was conducted Oct. 29–31 among 550 likely Colorado voters. The margin of error is 4 percentage points.

Clinton has a slim 1.7-point lead in Colorado, according to the RealClearPolitics polling average. The Democratic nominee had led the average by as many as 9 points last month before Trump surged in a series of polls.

President Obama carried Colorado in both 2008 and 2012, but the state had gone red in nine of the previous 10 presidential elections.

The new poll was conducted entirely after FBI Director James Comey sent a letter last week to lawmakers telling them the agency would be reviewing newly discovered emails “pertinent” to its investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server while secretary of State.

In the final days before Election Day, many polls have shown a tightening race — both nationally and in battleground states — as both candidates make their finals pitches to voters.
