Poll: Trump up 5 on Clinton among US voters in Israel

Donald Trump is 5 points ahead of Hillary Clinton among U.S. citizens in Israel, according to a new poll.

Trump leads Clinton, 49 percent to 44 percent, with that voting bloc in the survey from the nonpartisan iVote Israel out Thursday.

{mosads}Pollsters also found Trump and Clinton are deeply unpopular with Americans in Israel, much as they are stateside.

Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee, fares marginally better than Trump, with 64 percent viewing her unfavorably to the Republican nominee’s 65 percent. 

The vast majority of U.S. citizens in Israel who did cast ballots, iVote Israel told Politico, mailed absentee votes to their home states of New York, New Jersey and then California.

iVote Israel conducted its latest survey of 1,140 U.S. citizens living in Israel via online interviews from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2. It has a margin of error of 3 percentage points.

Trump’s advisers on Wednesday revealed his detailed policy plan for Israel should he win on Nov. 8.

The strategy revolves around safeguarding “the unbreakable bond between the United States and Israel” via continuing growth of “military cooperation and coordination.”

Trump and Clinton are battling for every advantage with voters in the U.S. amid tightening polls at both the national and state levels.

Clinton leads Trump by about 2 points nationally, according to the latest RealClearPolitics average of polls.
