Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine on Thursday called Donald Trump a “clown” during a Spanish-language speech in Phoenix.
{mosads}When criticizing Trump during his address, Hillary Clinton’s running mate called him “payaso,” which translates to “clown,” according to CNN.
“Donald Trump said that immigrants from Mexico are drug dealers, rapists and murderers. He is a clown!” Kaine said in Spanish.
This isn’t the only time that Kaine has chosen that particular insult for the GOP nominee.
When discussing Trump in Spanish with Univision’s Jorge Ramos in August, Kaine said that Trump acts like a clown and an idiot in respect to the Latino community.
During his Friday speech, Kaine argued that it was important to communicate with the Latino voters in a language that is closest to them.
“With so much at stake for the Hispanic community, it just makes sense to make the case for our campaign in a language that’s spoken by so many families across the country,” he said, according to translated prepared remarks.
