Clinton up 3 in national poll days before election

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton maintains a slim 3-point lead over Republican nominee Donald Trump just two days before the election, according to a national poll released Sunday morning.

{mosads}Clinton has the support of 45 percent of likely voters in the final Politico/Morning Consult poll, compared to Trump’s 42 percent. Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson has 8 percent, and the Green Party’s Jill Stein has 4 percent.

Clinton’s lead, which is within the poll’s margin of error, is unchanged from a similar poll last week.

“While our final poll before the election shows a tight race, Clinton has maintained her small lead in our polling for weeks now,” Kyle Dropp, Morning Consult co-founder and chief research officer, told Politico.

“There is little that could swing voters now in the final hours leading up to Election Day,” he added.

The poll, of 1,482 likely voters, conducted Friday and Saturday, has a 3-point margin of error.

Clinton leads Trump by 1.4 points in the RealClearPolitics average of national polling, 46.4 percent to 45 percent.
