Conway: Comey mishandled Clinton investigation from beginning

The Donald Trump campaign on Sunday slammed FBI Director James Comey for mishandling the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server while secretary of State.

{mosads}Comey announced Sunday that after a review of newly surfaced emails, the FBI’s July conclusion had not changed.

Asked what she thought of Comey’s decision, Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway told MSNBC’s Steve Kornacki: “I immediately thought that he’s mishandled the investigation from the beginning.”

Despite Comey’s decision, Conway told MSNBC, Clinton is still untrustworthy in the eyes of many voters.

“Some things haven’t changed at all. What FBI Director Comey said on July 7th under oath to Congress is still the same — that she was reckless and careless in her handling of information,” she said.

“The reason that so many Americans have a problem with Hillary Clinton’s honesty and trustworthiness and veracity does not change.”

Comey announced Sunday that the FBI has not changed its July conclusion regarding Clinton’s use of a private email server while secretary of State.

The announcement comes just two days before Election Day, following harsh criticism of Comey for his Oct. 28 letter on the latest portion of the investigation.

“Since my letter,” Comey wrote Sunday, “the FBI investigative team has been working around the clock to process and review a large volume of emails from a device obtained in connection with an unrelated criminal investigation.”
