Christie casts vote without fanfare

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R), an outspoken supporter of GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump this election season, cast his vote early Tuesday with little fanfare and no comment, according to local reports.

{mosads}Christie, who is known for notifying the press before voting, surprised reporters when he arrived at polls before sunrise, just several minutes after polls opened at 6 a.m.

When asked why he was so unusually early, the governor answered, “I always vote in the morning,” according to NJ.com. He added that he wanted to vote with his son, who had to get to work.

Christie has been the subject of scandal, after two of his aides were found guilty last week of helping arrange massive traffic delays at the George Washington Bridge in September 2013, an event dubbed “Bridgegate.”

Christie is not expected to make any further comments about his vote, and has “no public schedule for November 8,” according to a news release sent out Monday.
