Trump spokesman praises Clinton’s ‘classy’ speech

A top aide to Donald Trump praised Hillary Clinton’s concession speech Wednesday, calling it an important step toward unifying the country following a bitter presidential campaign.

Minutes after Clinton delivered her speech from New York, in which she encouraged supporters to give Trump, the president-elect, a chance to lead, Trump senior communications adviser Jason Miller tweeted praise of the speech, calling it “very classy.”

{mosads}Clinton phoned Trump in the early hours of the morning Wednesday to concede, though addressed her supporters in a televised speech later in the morning, where she encouraged supporters to have an “open mind” and give the businessman “a chance to lead.”

“Last night, I congratulated Donald Trump and offered to work with him on behalf of our country. I hope that he will be a successful president for all Americans,” she told campaign staffers and supporters in a New York hotel ballroom.

“I’m sorry we didn’t win this election for the values we share and the vision we hold for our country,” she added.
