Donald Trump’s campaign spent more time on the billionaire’s concession speech than on his victory speech ahead of Tuesday night, NBC News reported.

{mosads}Before the election, Trump and his campaign aides appeared confident about Trump’s chances of victory.

Polls conducted in the recent days before the election showed the race between Trump and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton tightening, both nationally and in battleground states.

But NBC News reported the Trump campaign’s data only showed a narrow path to victory.

On Tuesday night, when Trump edged closer to taking 270 electoral votes, his campaign reportedly scrambled to revise his victory speech.

Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and writer and policy adviser Steve Miller reportedly gathered with Trump on the night of the election to update the victory speech.

During Trump’s victory speech early Wednesday morning, he said he received a call from his Democratic rival congratulating him and he commended her for a hard-fought campaign.

Trump said it was time for the country to “bind the wounds of division” and “come together as one united people.”
