Report: Dick Cheney to headline fundraiser for daughter’s super-PAC

Former Vice President Dick Cheney will headline a fundraiser for a newly formed super-PAC supporting his daughter’s Senate campaign, according to The New York Times.

Cheney will attend a Washington, D.C., dinner for Cowboy PAC, a group formed to help Liz Cheney (R) in her race against Sen. Mike Enzi (R-Wyo.). The fundraiser costs $10,000 per couple.

{mosads}Cheney has become increasingly involved in his daughter’s campaign, and stepped out to defend her in a public family feud over her gay marriage views. After Liz Cheney repeatedly proclaimed she opposed gay marriage, her sister Mary, who is gay, took to Facebook to attack her, leading to a public statement from the elder Cheney and his wife defending Liz.

Liz Cheney has struggled to gain much traction against Enzi since she launched her campaign. Many Wyoming Republicans say it’ll be difficult for her to convince voters she’s really from the state — she’s lived on the East Coast most of her life and only moved back to Wyoming a few years ago.
