W.Va. Dem aims for the ‘full Grassley’

Call it the full Grassley.

West Virginia Democratic Senate candidate Natalie Tennant is planning to campaign in all of the Mountain State’s 55 counties before Election Day.

{mosads}The secretary of State will kick off her tour later this week in the Northern Panhandle region of the state, with further stops across the state planned over the next few months.

It’s a move that other politicians have undertaken in the past to generate attention and connect with all the state’s corners. Most notably, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) makes an annual pilgrimage to the state’s 99 counties.

In a statement, Tennant contrasted what she said was her own focus on West Virginia needs with Rep. Shelley Moore Capito’s (R-W.Va.) time spent in Washington. Capito is the expected GOP nominee for the seat left open by Sen. Jay Rockefeller’s (D-W.Va.) retirement.

“I’m running to put West Virginia first,” Tennant said. “That’s why I’m taking my campaign directly to the people of West Virginia to make their voices heard.”
