Alaska Senate candidate Dan Sullivan’s (R) campaign is out with a new ad featuring the father of an Alaskan soldier who died in Iraq who says that Sullivan shares his son’s patriotic values.
{mosads}”It’s important that we get political leadership that will not squander the sacrifices that have been made to keep this nation headed in the right direction,” says Wayne Woods in the ad after talking about his son’s death.
“That’s why I support Dan Sullivan. I know that he shares the same values my son had. This is a man of the highest personal integrity that will not compromise his principles for political gain. He’s ready to fight for Alaska, he is the right man for the job and this is the time that we need him the most,” Woods continues.
The minute-long spot never directly mentions that Sullivan is a Marine, though at one point it shows him overseas in military gear holding an Alaska flag.
Sullivan is looking to hold off Alaska Lt. Gov. Mead Treadwell (R) ahead of his mid-August primary, though he’s spent the bulk of his campaign trading shots with Sen. Mark Begich (D-Alaska), who rolled out a new positive ad of his own Tuesday night touting the similarity of his voting record with Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska).
