Senate field to replace Walsh shrinks
Another Democrat has decided not to run for Sen. John Walsh’s (D-Mont.) seat, shrinking the field of serious competitors at this Saturday’s Democratic state convention to Wilsall rancher Dirk Adams (D) and Montana state Rep. Amanda Curtis (D).
{mosads}Montana state Sen. Dave Wanzenried (D) ruled out a bid because of potential health problems for his wife that recently cropped up, according to the Helena Independent Record.
Neither remaining candidate is well-known. Democrats have given up on winning the seat in the wake of Walsh’s plagiarism scandal and subsequent decision to drop out of the race. Rep. Steve Daines (R-Mont.) is all but a lock to move to the upper chamber this fall.
