Poll: Pryor’s lead evaporates in Ark.

Sen. Mark Pryor (D-Ark.) has lost his lead among registered voters against Rep. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) in the Arkansas Senate battle, according to a poll released Sunday.

Pryor and Cotton are polling even at 41 percent each, according to an NBC / Marist poll released on Sunday.

In May, a similar poll had Pryor ahead with 51 percent to Cotton’s 40 percent.

“Arkansas is a test of whether an incumbent Democratic senator can survive re-election in a state Mitt Romney carried by 24 points in 2012,” said Lee M. Miringoff, director of The Marist College Institute for Public Opinion, in a statement. “Right now, it’s not going Pryor’s way.”

The NBC / Marist poll had a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points. The May NBC / Marist poll had a margin of error of plus or minus 3.3 percentage points.
