Perdue blasts Nunn’s ‘desperate, untrue attacks’ in new ad

Businessman David Perdue (R) is firing back at former charity executive Michelle Nunn’s (D) recent attack ads, calling them “desperate” and “untrue” in a new spot tying her to President Obama.

{mosads}”Michelle Nunn’s desperate, untrue attacks on David Perdue hide her real goal. That’s hiding her support of Barack Obama’s job-killing, big government policies,” the ad’s narrator says.

The ad comes in the wake of news that Perdue said in a 2005 deposition that he had spent “most of [his] career” focused on outsourcing, and on the same day Nunn launched a spot of her own highlighting those comments.

She had previously aired ads attacking Perdue for his role in Pillowtex, a North Carolina textile company that closed shortly after he left the company.

How voters perceive the debate over Perdue’s business record — and how closely he can tie Nunn to President Obama — will go a long way towards determining who wins this top Senate race.

New polling shows Perdue with a slight lead in the race. The two candidates will square off for their first official debate Tuesday evening.
