Sen. Rand Paul’s (R-Ky.) political action committee will launch a “six figure” ad buy in support of Sen. Pat Roberts’ (R-Kan.) reelection bid, Paul announced on Fox News Monday night.
The spot highlights Roberts’ support for an amendment Paul authored that would have stopped foreign aid from going to Libya, Egypt, Pakistan or any country where a United States diplomatic mission was attacked.
{mosads}The ad will hit the airwaves starting tomorrow on cable networks in the state, according to the New York Times.
Paul will be in Kansas on Tuesday to campaign for Roberts, and criticized Roberts’ independent challenger Greg Orman.
“I think it’s close, but I think people are fooled into thinking maybe he’s an independent,” he said, “but I kind of see him as someone who isn’t really being forthright.”
Republicans have been charging for weeks that Orman is certain to caucus with Senate Democrats — which would put a dent in Republican ambitions for a majority in the upper house.
