Report: Abuse allegations against Florida Dem stretch back decades
Rep. Alan Grayson’s (D-Fla.) ex-wife accused the Senate candidate of abusing her over the past two decades, Politico reported Tuesday.
{mosads}Lolita Grayson reportedly gave the site police and medical records that allege that the Florida Democrat hit her on the back of the head with a book, and threatened to kill her on another occasion. No charges were ever filed against Alan Grayson.
The congressman’s attorney, Mark NeJame, rejected the accusations.
“Lolita is a disturbed woman. She has made one false allegation after another. Her own daughter refutes her,” NeJame told Politico, referring to the Graysons’ oldest child, who had defended her father.
Lolita Grayson dropped a temporary restraining order against the congressman in 2014 after he denied pushing her.
“I want the people to know my story so they know what kind of man Alan Grayson really is,” Lolita Grayson told Politico in an email.
Grayson is one of the Democrats running to unseat Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.).
