Obama set to appear on Sunday’s ‘This Week’

President Obama will appear Sunday on ABC News’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos,” fresh on the heels of his announcement of new executive actions on immigration.

The interview will also touch on hot-button foreign policy issues and the anticipated decision by a Missouri grand jury on whether to charge Darren Wilson, a white Ferguson police officer who shot and killed Michael Brown, an unarmed black teenager.

Stephanopoulos asked his Twitter followers to submit suggested questions for the president:

But the main topic of discussion is likely to be Obama’s highly controversial move Thursday to extend deportation relief and work permits to an estimated 5 million migrants living in the U.S. illegally.

{mosads}Obama has not been a frequent guest on the Sunday shows, but he’s made a noticeable uptick in recent months.

The president appeared on Chuck Todd’s inaugural episode of “Meet the Press” in early September and then sat for an interview with CBS News’s “Face the Nation” shortly after Republicans’ decisive victory in the midterm elections earlier this month.

In a post-election press conference, Obama said that one area “we’re constantly experimenting and trying to do better is just making sure that people know exactly what it is that we’re trying to accomplish.” The president said that could include more face time with members of Congress or the media.

“I’m going to try different things — whether it’s having a drink with Mitch McConnell or letting John Boehner beat me again at golf or weekly press conferences — I don’t know if that would be effective,” he said.
