Bush 41 in ‘great spirits,’ spends Christmas in Houston hospital

Former President George H.W. Bush is in “great spirits” after spending Christmas Day in the hospital.

The 90-year old was taken to Houston Methodist Hospital on Tuesday night after experiencing shortness of breath and has remained there for care.

{mosads}”President Bush had another terrific day and is in great spirits,” a Bush spokesman, Jim McGrath, said in a statement Thursday, according to reports.

“He asked that his sincere wishes for a very Merry Christmas be extended to one and all,” he added.

The former president also had a health scare over the 2012 holidays, when he was hospitalized for over a month for bronchitis.

Bush is the father of former President George W. Bush and former Gov. Jeb Bush (R-Fla.), a potential 2016 presidential contender.
