On Thursday, Reid’s office announced that he cracked a number of ribs and facial bones when his exercise machine broke during a workout at his home in Nevada. They said he would make a full recovery.
Reid spokesman Adam Jentleson said Tuesday that the senator has broken bones in his face, three broken ribs, as well as a concussion.
{mosads}Working from his home in Washington, Reid will not be at the Capitol for the swearing in of new senators and the opening of Congress on Tuesday.
“Despite his injuries, he has been working every day, holding meetings with fellow Senators and staff,” Jentleson said. “Senator Reid has spoken with President Obama multiple times since his injury and will continue to keep a busy schedule in the coming days.”
In the picture posted on Twitter, he is shown meeting with other Democratic leaders, Sens. Dick Durbin (Ill.), Chuck Schumer (N.Y.) and Patty Murray (Wash.).
Jentleson said Durbin will take over Reid’s duties on the floor until he returns.
