President Obama already has a copy of the hotly anticipated premiere episode of the final half-season of the acclaimed drama “Mad Men,” his departed senior adviser said Thursday.

Dan Pfeiffer, who recently left his role at the White House as a counselor on communications, said on Grantland’s “Hollywood Prospectus” podcast that the premiere was among the advance screeners that the president has received.

{mosads}The high-brow AMC drama is, according to Pfeiffer, exactly the sort of show the president enjoys.

“He basically refuses to watch network television. All of his TV shows are cable,” he said, before noting an exception.

“I read somewhere that he liked ‘Downton Abbey,’ and I was horribly disturbed by that fact.”

The first episode of “Mad Men’s” final seven-episode run is set to air on April 5. Over the course of six and a half seasons, it has charted not only the story of brooding advertising executive Don Draper but the evolution of American culture during the middle of the 20th century.
