There was no shortage of tweetable moments during last night’s explosive Republican debate on Fox News, but the most retweeted moment actually came from a Democratic presidential candidate: Sen. Bernie Sanders.
{mosads}”It’s over. Not one word about economic inequality, climate change, Citizens United or student debt,” Sanders (I-Vt.) tweeted as the two-hour-long debate wrapped up. “That’s why the Rs are so out of touch.”
The liberal lawmaker’s tweet was retweeted over 20,000 times — over four times the number of retweets received by the second most retweeted tweet, which incidentally also belonged to a Democratic candidate: Hillary Clinton.
“Watch the #GOPdebate?” @HillaryClinton asked her followers. “Bet you feel like donating to a Democrat right about now.”
Nearly 5,000 Twitter users retweeted her jab.
