Clinton returns to Sunday shows after 4 years away
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will make her first Sunday show appearance since 2011 when she sits down with John Dickerson on CBS’ “Face the Nation” this weekend.
The Democratic primary front-runner has been active on the talk show circuit recently — with appearances on the “Tonight Show” and “Ellen” this month — as her stagnant campaign looks to reboot.
A crop of GOP presidential hopefuls will also be present on the heels of the second GOP primary debate, and the upcoming visit of Pope Francis will likely dominate conversations.
{mosads}Carly Fiorina will look to maintain her momentum following a strong performance at the Wednesday night debate, joining host Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday.”
Donald Trump will appear on a pair of shows, ABC’s “This Week” and CNN’s “State of the Union,” where he will take questions on why he declined to correct one of his supporter’s assertions that President Obama is “not even American” and a “Muslim” at a town hall Q&A.
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fl.) will follow Trump on ABC, and a pair of governors, New Jersey’s Chris Christie and Ohio’s John Kasich, will sandwich Trump on CNN.
Ben Carson, who has consistently polled second to Trump this month, will headline NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
Notably absent: Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, whose campaign has been floundering recently.
Here’s the rest of Sunday’s expected guests across all five major shows:
ABC’s “This Week”: New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio will follow Trump and Rubio on the program to discuss Pope Francis’ visit to his city.
CBS’ “Face the Nation”: After Clinton, GOP presidential hopeful Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) will join the program to talk about his performance at the second GOP debate.
CNN’s “State of the Union”: Debate moderator Jake Tapper will get the chance to ask follow-up questions to three candidates who were on the stage on Wednesday, when he is joined by Christie, Kasich, and Trump.
“Fox News Sunday”: Fiorina headlines the program, followed by two men of the cloth, Archbishop of Washington Cardinal Donald Wuerl and Salt and Light Television Network CEO Father Thomas Rosica, who will discuss the pope’s U.S. tour.
NBC’s “Meet the Press”: Carson will be joined by Kasich, followed by a taped interview with JPMorgan Chase CEO and Chairman Jaime Dimon, who is bearish about America’s post-recession economy.
