UK prime minister: Trump was ‘being a gentleman’ by holding my hand

United Kingdom Prime Minister Theresa May says President Trump “was actually being a gentleman” when he held her hand during a visit to the White House in January.

“I think he was actually being a gentleman,” May told Vogue in an interview.

“We were about to walk down a ramp, and he said it might be a bit awkward.” 

{mosads}May met with Trump in January, marking the first visit from a foreign leader during Trump’s presidency. During her visit, an image of the two holding hands while walking outside the White House went viral. 

In her interview with the magazine, May said she thinks she and Trump got along.

“I like to think we got on,” May said. “I mean, obviously he has, uh … it was a stunning election victory, in that he’s someone who has not been involved in politics.”
