Former Rep. Gabby Giffords (D-Ariz.) on Sunday hit back at President Trump’s tweet about the weapons used in Saturday’s London terrorist attack, saying that “every day is a gun debate.”

“Do you notice we are not having a gun debate right now? That’s because they used knives and a truck!” Trump tweeted about the London terror attack that left seven dead and nearly 50 wounded.

“Mr. President, every day we are having a gun debate because every day 90 people in our country die from gun violence. Many of them are kids,” Giffords tweeted back.

{mosads}Giffords, who was shot and severely wounded at a rally in 2011, has become an advocate for preventing gun violence since the shooting that left six others dead. She is the co-founder of the anti-gun violence nonprofit Americans for Responsible Solutions along with her husband, astronaut Mark Kelly.

Pro-gun groups like the National Rifle Association (NRA) endorsed Trump during his campaign, arguing that he would fill the Supreme Court with pro-Second Amendment justices and defend gun rights.
