Drone expert: For al-Baghdadi to still be alive takes a ‘brilliant mind’
A drone expert on Tuesday said “it takes a brilliant mind” for Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State in Iraq & Syria (ISIS), to still be alive after the United States’ efforts to defeat the terrorist group.
“The fact is for him to be able to stay alive after all of the things that we did over these years and all of the things that the great men and women that were in the positions I was, were doing against his organization, that takes a brilliant mind,” Brett Velicovich told “CBS This Morning.”
{mosads}Velicovich, a former member of special operations, said it’s “just a matter of time” before the ISIS leader is killed.
“In my opinion, Baghdadi’s already dead, he just doesn’t even know it.”
The United States since 2014 has been conducting counterterror operations aimed at defeating ISIS in Syria and Iraq.
